Miki Howard, who portrayed Billie Holiday in the Spike Lee Denzel Washington movie "Malcolm X", before recording and entire album of Holiday songs, “Miki Sings Billie”.
When Miki Howard was featured on the second season on TV One’s critically acclaimed bio-series “Unsung”, hers was the highest rated episode of the season, and was in 2015 adapted into a TV One movie released in June of 2016 titled "Love Under New Management".

Fifty years of performances have kept the Manhattans featuring Gerald Alston a fan favorite. Come and hear them sing their timeless classic songs, forty-five of which have been charted hits since 1965. Their number one song, (Let's just) "Kiss and Say Goodbye", topped both the US Billboard Pop and R&B charts, and became the second single ever certified platinum buy RIAA. The group found further success in March 1980 with the release of "Shining Star", which reached number five on the Billboard Hot 100 and number four on the R&B Chart, and received a Grammy Award the following spring. Dee Lucas, national recording artist and saxophonist, who graduated from the University of North Alabama, will be coming back home to treat his fans. With songs released over the past fourteen years, from "Remembrance" in 2004 to his 2018 release “Going Left”, a performance by Dee Lucas will be a treat for old fans and gain him lots of new ones too.
